 Randy was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to Western Massachusetts with his family in 1965 when his father accepted a post as Springfield College President. Randy graduated from Springfield’s Classical High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Minors in both Structural Engineering and Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire. In 1978, he further supplemented his studies with graduate courses in Business Law & Accounting. 

 Locklin Construction was established in 1978 and initially focused on smaller-scale residential construction which gave Randy the opportunity to further develop his knowledge of construction. With that hands-on knowledge, Randy began joining larger commercial projects as a Construction Manager, ensuring quality while resolving issues, selecting subcontractors, and communicating with architects, engineers and city officials. 

As the years passed, Locklin Construction expanded, allowing Randy to transfer some of the physical on-site construction responsibilities to his employees. With his extra time now devoted to overseeing the projects, Randy quickly saw the benefit of a second set of eyes helping ensure the project remained on target in every aspect; from the financing and planning, through to the execution. 

Thus, Locklin Construction began to branch into consulting; focusing on allowing developers the freedom to outline the scope of their specific needs and requirements, while simultaneously releasing them from the stress associated with the daily minutia of the project. From there, the role of Owner’s Consultant evolved as our clients began to benefit from delegating even just a few of the time-consuming management responsibilities that are inevitable in any construction project.
